Ayurvet organized its 1st Knowledge Symposium on 13th October 2012 in PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lakshmipat Singhania Auditorium, PHD House, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi. The topic under focus was “Integrating Livestock & Soil Health for Sustainable Farm Profits”. Ayurvet took its clue from the facts that the Livestock and Agriculture are two arms of Indian rural farmers and these sectors put together contribute around 30% of our GDP.
The symposium dwelled upon the efforts to find out innovative solutions using modern scientific tools for creating value in agriculture and livestock food production system, so as to address soil and human health along with inclusive growth.
The Symposium was graced by Shri. Sompal Ji Shastri, Hon'ble Ex.Minister of Agriculture (Chief Guest). Dr. S. Ayyappan, Secretary, DARE, Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Prof. (Dr.) R.B.Singh, Padma Bhusan, President, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Dr. M.L.Madan, Chairman, Livestock Sub-group, Haryana Farmer's Commission.
The symposium registered the impressive presence of more than 200 delegates, which included the guests from Poland, Hungary and South Africa, senior representatives from ICAR, AYUSH and State Animal Husbandry Departments, Media representatives from Doordarshan and Akashwani were present during the occasion.
On this occasion, an in-house production film on journey of Ayurvet major scientific breakthrough, titled, “Bhagya Vidhata” was screened, which was appreciated by guests and delegates.
